Do corporations & their Business & Industry NGOs (BINGOs) represent society?

Written By Krishna on Friday, December 02, 2011 | 2:55 AM

After usurping the democratic space of citizens by getting themselves declared as artificial persons, corporations are sidelining community groups using Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) of myriad ilk both overtly and covertly through their own NGOs or through tainted funding. It is high time NGOs involved in platform politics realize how they are being used by their funding agencies with ulterior motives by claiming to "represent" citizens. ToxicsWatch Alliance (TWA) demands that NGOs reveal their funding sources each time they "represent" citizens, conduct programs or issue statements.
